Run Through the Finish Line
One of my favorite television shows is “The Biggest Loser.” It is so inspiring to watch the personal journeys of each of the contestants. One thing that I’ve been impressed with throughout each season is that at each challenge there is only one winner, be it a team or individual. But at every challenge, everyone finishes, win or lose. And those that finish first always encourage the rest to keep going.
My favorite part of the show is when they reveal how the contestant looks today, several months later. It’s totally awesome to see how almost all of them continue their journey. Even though only one can be named “The Biggest Loser”, each contestant has run the race to get the prize.
Paul encourages each of us in 1 Corinthians 9 to run the race to win the prize. For everyone who runs the race goes into strict training. Yes, the Christian walk or race is grueling at times, but those who finish will gain a prize that will last forever.
