CROSS WALK MINISTRIES
Our goal is to love and lead children to Christ with age appropriate activities and acceptance into the family of Christ through the teaching of God's Word, example, and kid-culture fun! We know that if a child feels excited about God and coming to church, this may very well be the first step in building a lasting relationship with Him.
- Nursery
Paid staff lovingly takes care of our youngest worshippers from birth through two years old. We offer child care every Sunday morning for both services; Sunday evening for the 6pm service and Wednesday nights from 6:45-8:15pm. For special all-church events, child care is arranged through our early Childhood Director.
- Kid University (Sunday School)
Where Christ is King and kid’s are cool!
Every Sunday morning, we offer Kid University Classes for every age, from two-year-olds through fifth grade. Each class uses a creative Bible-based curriculum taught by a loving and trained teacher with a heart for the age they teach.
- Four-year-olds through fifth graders meet every Sunday morning during the school year for a time of praise, singing, and celebration. PreSchool - Kindergarten go to Kid University Sunday School from 9:30-10:35am, then to J.A.M. (Jesus and Me) Town Worship from 11:00am - noon. First - Fifth Grades go to Kid's Town Worship from 9:30 - 10:35am, then to Kid U Sunday School from 11:00am - noon.
- Children’s Worship
- Both children's worship services consist of praise, creative worship, puppets, songs, object lessons,
hands-on crafts, games, and Bible Stories with life changing applications.
- Our Tread Team (4-5 grade applicants) learn ministry as they serve the younger children as role models, puppeteers, praise team members, and share their other gifts during these made-for kids Church services.
- Kid's Choirs
- Our little people's choir is Kid's Under Construction. This choir meets Sunday evenings during the school year. The age group is 4 years through Kindergarten.
- Our older kid’s choir is Kid's 'N' Motion. This choir meets Sunday evenings during the school year. The age group is for first through sixth grade. This group performs a Christmas musical and a Spring worship package.
- Family Worship
Once every four months, we encourage families to worship together, inter-generationally, in a special worship service that strives to engage all age groups in meaningful teaching and praise experience.
Any questions, please contact Libby Gerdes.
WEDNESDAY NIGHT MINISTRIES
- New Program: Caravans
Our four-year-olds through 5th graders are participating in a new program called, "Caravans," where they will have a great time learning about Jesus. Bring your child to Children's Area Hallway by 7:00 pm. The program runs from 7:00 pm to 8:15 pm. For more information, contact Julie Behm, 732-5958.
- 5th Grade "Discovering My Faith"
Each spring all 5th graders are invited to attend special 12-week class. Through the teaching and discussion of the basics of Christianity, pre-teens will begin the transitional phase from Children's Ministries to the Middle School Department. To enroll your 5th grader, or if you have questions, contact the Children's Director, Libby Gerdes, at 733-6610, ext 17.
- Quizzing
Quizzing is offered on Sunday mornings from September through March as an alternative to the regular graded classes. Open to 1st through 6th graders who want to be in a Quizzing Program. Quizzing is a Bible Study Competition where the kids study one book of the Bible for the year and then attend meets where they answer questions in a quiz bowl type setting. The Quiz team attends three to four out of town meets during the quiz season. This year they will be studying Genesis. Contact: Liz McGregor.
- Various CrossWalk Ministry Programs Throughout The Year:
- Seasonal Parties and Activities
During the different seasons, we try to provide activities for the children to celebrate and enjoy. We have an annual Christmas party and an Easter Eggstrvaganza. In the past, we have opened to the community our Halloween alternative, a costumed carnival that includes free game booths and a donation dinner.
- Birthday Club
We encourage all kids to sign up for our Birthday Club. Then, on that child's birthday, we celebrate them by sending them a surprise package in the mail. Twice a year, the families with children having birthdays in that time frame are invited to a "Birthday Bash" and potluck after the Sunday morning service. The cake and candles are on us!
OTHER MINISTRIES
- After School Skate
Once a month our Children's Director will stop by different schools in the Magic Valley and pick up kids, (with your parent's permission of course!) for an after school time of food and fun!
If you want to attend, make sure you fill out a permission slip (Children's Area Hallway). Get it back to Libby and she will make the contact with your parents or care giver for the school pick-up. Homeschoolers are welcome to attend. Children will be given rides home after the event.
Any questions, or to get a permission slip, stop by the Children's Area Hallway or call Libby Gerdes (733-6610, ext 17).
- Preschool Play Group
If you are a young parent or caregiver with children from ages birth through kindergarten come connect with other parents and children at our play group. Every Thursday from 9:30am to Noon in the Community Life Center. Drop in or come for the whole play time. Great fun and fellowship for adults and children. If you have any questions, please contact the group's leader, Megan Wighaman.
